Well a great week! This week was full of miracles and
amazing things! Tuesday we went over to the food bank and volunteered with Connor
our investigator and Lacy one of the YSA! So that was really fun! I like going
there the people know us and they love when we come. But the real miracles
started happening later in the week on Thursday! So Thursday we got up and
drove out to a ladies house to help her clean and vacuum because she just had
foot surgery. While we where there we talked about how she gets her food from a
little farmers market in town. So on our way home we decided to stop over there
to check it out. When we got there
they had a notice for a job opening and Connor and his mom have really been
looking for a job. So we called him and he came down and applied and tried a
couple other places! By the end of the day he had a promising offer to work at
Waffle House! So things started looking up! Friday came and he had another
interview with the Waffle House so he borrowed the Elder’s white shirt and tie
and Sister Swank gave him a haircut and we had a little lesson with the Easter
video and the spirit was so strong. He went to his interview and I guess it
went really well. So now all he
has to do is wait! That night he was texting us about church and he asked us
"when can I get baptized?"..... UM WHAT! So we told him we would come
over the next day and talk more about it! So Saturday came with a lot of stress
it was transfer call day and we where hoping to put Connor on date! We decided that
we would have a little BBQ with him and his mom and talk over the baptism
questions. So we got to their house and we sat down and started to small talk a
little and Connor says "so when can I get baptized?" Wow this kid is
so great! We went over the baptism questions and the only one he has a problem
with is the Word of Wisdom.. So we
went over it one more time and he listened intently.. Then he said " so
basically you are telling me to just try to stay away from any thing that could
become addicting?" We agreed and he said " Well I will give up sigs
in two weeks if y'all give up soda." He lives right by Sonic so we always
have a drink with us when we go and see him. HAHAHA! But we made the deal and we are all quitting
together! LOL. So we talked a little more about what baptism is and he set the
date for April 16th! He has come so far even asked if we could get him a CTR
ring! HAHA! That night was transfer calls and I was very scared I would leave
after seeing Connor come so far! But my name did not get called! So six more
weeks here in Valdosta! So I can see Connor take plunge! HAHA! Sunday was great
Connor and Suzanne both came to church and he even said the prayer in class and
stood up and announced his baptism! Things here in Valdosta are amazing! With
the new changes in the transfer that means new leadership assignments.... found
out this morning that me and Sister Brain have been picked to be the Sister
Training Leaders.. this means we are in charge of all the Sisters in our zone
and have to organize splits and give trainings in zone meetings. A new challenges
and miracles ahead! I love y'all!
