Last Call Home

Hope that y'all had a great Christmas! Things here are going good and we had a fun holiday so no complaints there! It was great to be able to talk to my family but crazy that it was my last call home! Christmas morning we opened presents as a district and me and Sister Dayton made muffins and french toast for everyone. Not much else this week just great to celebrate together and take time to reflect why we have Christmas! Love y'all hope to hear from you soon!

New Investigators

Hey y'all. Hope that you had a great week! Things here have been good! Stayed busy this week! Shelby is back in town so its been good seeing her we are still hoping that we will be able to help her during this hard time. So send lots of prayers her way! We also went out finding this week with a new finding idea that our mission is trying. It went well! We went to a trailer park near our house and in the first 15 minutes we got 2 lessons and a new investigator! But then the manager kicked us out so that was fun hahah! We also went to lights of the south with our ward mission leader so that was fun! We had a good time and we where able to talk to some people there. this week we started lessons with the Kurstetter family. They are the family that is going to get baptized in Utah! It went really well the kids are so great and we are excited to keep the lessons going! I am so grateful for the chance that I have to be a missionary at this time in this area! As the time is getting closer that I will leave I have been reflecting back on the last 16 months of my mission and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Thank y'all for all the love and support! here is a picture of us at the lights of the south and a picture of me and my favorite Sista Folaumahina doing a tim tam slam. Her family is from Australia and Tonga and they sent here these cookies! And you bight of both ends and sip hot coco through it! haha a little fun for the end of the week! Love y'all!

Blessing for Less Active Son

Hey y'all.  Hope that you had a great week! Things here are good! Had a long week this week but not too much happened! The first exciting thing that happened this week was we got a call from the Stake President about a less active that lives in our area that reached out to him for a blessing. We didn’t have her on the records so we got the address from him and set up a time to go the next day. Her son is really sick and she wanted a blessing for him so we took the elders with us. When we got there it was in this trailer park that we where in the day before. We thought that was kind of funny but they are really awesome they remind me a lot of Connor from Valdosta! We also have been working with a part member family from Utah and all the kids committed to be baptized on February 23! So they can get baptized in Utah when they go see their brother! Any ways it has been a good week.  Love ya’ll thanks for all the support! Here is a pic of me in a abandoned trailer park saw my moms name spray painted in a trailer lol! Have a good week y'all!

Send Some Prayers Our Way

Hey y'all hope you had a good week! This week was a little hard for our district. So send some prayers our way! Not much happened this week just been really cold and wet! Its been raining all week! Its kind of depressing not seeing the sun for a couple days! But on a happy note we got to watch the Christmas devotional last night and it was so great! I love the comment that was made “We celebrate Christmas because of Easter!”  I am so grateful for the chance I have to be a missionary for the Savior and to represent him. This is the best time of the year! Check out the 25 ways over 25 days of service the church is doing! I love ya’ll Thanks for all the love and support!

Fun Adventures

Hey y'all! Hope that you had a great week! This week was good we had a couple of fun adventures this week! Monday we decided to go to a swamp and go for a walk down some trails. It was really fun! Half way down the trail we met this old man who told us if we want to see some cool wildlife that we should go around the other side of the lake. So we took his advice and we went around the other trail and started walking. About a mile down we are walking along and right on the edge is a freaking big gator! It was so cool we where so close to him it was crazy. He didn’t even move.  We sat there and took pictures of him for a good 20 minutes. It didn’t even move when the Elders decided it would be a good idea to chuck some rocks at it! Tuesday we had our district meeting so we all went to the church for that. I gave a training on personal study and some of the other missionaries gave training's as well. When we got done we came out to get in our car and it wouldn’t start! So we stole the Elder’s car for the day and went to see some people. We saw Shelby and the spirit is working so hard on her right now! She knows that she needs to get baptized! So she finally told her husband and he said that he has to do his own research before he will let her get baptized. And he doesn’t want the help of the missionaries... so pray that his heart will be softened! Wednesday we got ready for Thanksgiving! We made some cute hand outs so that we could take them to some less actives in the ward for Thanksgiving! It was a good way to get in the door even when it was close to the holidays! Thursday was a busy day! We had three houses to go to for Thanksgiving! I am so grateful for the ward we are in and their love! Friday we planned all day! Getting ready for the next transfer! It’s not the funnest thing to do but someone’s got to do it! We also went over to Grandma and Grandpa Norris house! We had a fire and roasted hotdogs and decorated their tree! They are an older couple in our ward that has taken in the missionaries as their grand kids! And they have a big fluffy blind dog-named Trinity!  Saturday we had our transfer calls so that was really stressful all day! We don’t get the call until 9 that night so all day we where freaking out cause Sister Dayton has already been here for 4 transfers, we where for sure that she would go! We told the Elders that we where having a hard day because of the call and then we went to lunch with the Sisters. When we get back the Elders had climbed our balcony and set up a hammock for us hahah! So we used it for the rest of the day to finish up our planning! That night we got the call and Sister Dayton & I are staying together one more! We are so excited to be together for this next transfer and to see what the Lord has in store for us! Love y'all hope that you have a great week!

I Love My Mission

Hey y'all! It was a good week here in Grovetown.  Just work-in hard! We had our zone conference this week so we got to see missionaries from two different zones! Sister Dayton and I got to see Sister Farmer another sister that we came out with so that was fun! It was good to be with everyone and get some training! Shelby came and helped serve lunch to the missionaries and that was awesome! She loved it! We also had a Relief Society activity this week and she came! She drove us home and we talked about baptism and she knows its right. She is just having a hard time making the jump! Every time she feels the Spirit she gets scared.  So pray for her that she will stop running away from the Spirit!!! I also talked in church this week so that was fun! This week I was able to talk to some missionaries that where having a hard time wanting to be out here and be motivated. Telling them about my mission surprised me of how deeply I feel about these last 15 months. I love my mission and the time I have had out here.  It truly is the best thing that has ever happened to me! Thanks for all your love and support I love ya’ll have a great Thanksgiving!

Love,

This Week For Us Was Pretty Good

Hey y'all! Hope that you had a great week! This week for us was pretty good.  I feel like it was forever long! Monday was a good day we had a chance to go to the store with the other sisters that live close to us. After we got done shopping one of the sisters locked their keys in the car so we had no way to leave the store! We tried everything to get the keys out, in the end we had to call a locksmith to come save us! That was not cheep but we taught him a little lesson while he broke into our car haha!
Tuesday was a good day we saw a lot of people and we had our weekly Book of Mormon class. Shelby wasn’t able to come because she was in Chicago but it was one of the elders birthdays so we made cupcakes and brought them for the treat after the class and had a mini birthday party!
Wednesday we just did some service with a recent convert named Stephanie. She is really nice and just needed some time with the sisters so we helped her clean a little and talked about some of the questions that she had! Shelby also got back from Chicago so we went over and talked to her about her trip a little!
Thursday was such a fun day! We had zone training meeting so we went up to Augusta for that. It was cool to be in the new zone! It is the smallest zone I have ever been in. After ZTM we went to a Hawaiian food place called Aloha! Some members own it so they let us eat there for free. After lunch we went on a little mini tour of Augusta. It is so pretty!! And the best part was the Augusta National Masters Course! Yep that’s right Dad I went to the Masters... well the gate was open and the guard let me walk up to the line haaha! But i got to see the clubhouse and he told me a bunch of cool facts about the Masters! It was pretty fun!
Friday was our service day at the food pantry so we worked there most of the morning. That is always fun! I love talking to the people there. It’s at a Baptist church so we make new friends while we are there! Also me and Sister Dayton and Elder St. Thomas hit 100 days until we go home!!!
Saturday we went with a part member family we are working with onto Fort Gordon. They showed us around and we where able to get to know them a little better!
Sunday was such a fun day starting at 6 am! We had meeting early at the church and then we had the church services. There were some people that we invited to come that where able to make it so that was nice! After church we went to the Jehovah witness church! Our maintenance man Mike goes there and he invited us to attend their service! It was a interesting experience.  Everyone was very nice to us. All I can say is the church is true y'all! It was just way different than what our church teaches!
So that is my week! Here are some pics that go along with the week! I love y'all thanks for all the support!!!

15 months Out!

Hey y'all hope that you had a good week! This week was really good we had some great lessons, celebrated 15 months, and we get a extra hour of sleep now! We had a really great lesson with Shelby this week!!! We just went into it with the mind set of we are just going to listen to her because there is some thing that she has questions about that we haven't figured out yet. That was the best lesson that I have been apart of in a long time! She finally felt the spirit!!! She was like "what is this feeling I never want it to go away!" so she is doing awesome!!!
I went on exchanges this week with the sister training leaders and that was fun.  They are so awesome and it was cool to go to a new area and meet some awesome people and get to know Sister Howard a little better.
Its official!! Sister Dayton and me have been out 15 months!!! Its crazy to think that we have been out that long! We celebrated with some sparklers and root-beer! Also the time has changed yet again! I’m still not used to that but its all good we get an extra hour of sleep now! I have been thinking a lot about my mission this last week and I am so grateful for the chance that I have had to be here in Georgia! I wouldn’t give this up for the world! Thank ya’ll for your love and support!

Happy Halloween

Hey y'all! Happy Halloween! Its been a good week here in Grove Town! Still trying to figure out the area and get used to being here but I love it. This week we have been working hard to help some of our investigators make the next step in their progression. We have been working with Shelby a lot, she has been working with Sisters for a couple years now and we just have been stuck on what the next step should be. Saturday night we had a fireside with our mission president and his wife and our investigators and it went really well with Shelby there I think that its exactly what she needed. Right after the fireside we had the ward trunk or treat and all of us missionaries decorated our car like Jonah in the whale hahah! It was really fun and the ward is so great here! I’m excited to get to know them more and to be able to work with them. I hope y'all have a fun and safe Halloween! Thanks for all of your love and support. Here are some pictures of our car and some fun adventures for the week!

I am Now with Sister Dayton in Grove Town!!!

Hey y'all! Wow what a week! I got transferred so on Tuesday we went up to Macon to find out who our new comps are going to be. We got there and all went into the meeting and they announced who our new comps are when it got to my comp I think that President re-thought his choice when I started jumping up and down! I am now with Sister Dayton in Grove Town!!! I came out into the mission with her we where in the same MTC room and she is my best friend!!! So we are so excited to be together in Grove Town! We have been busy this week just trying to get to know people and teach, Grove Town is so much smaller than Warner Robins. Its a fairly new town that has a military base so this makes base number 3 that I have served at. But my first army base so that is exciting. Here in Grove Town all the missionaries live in the same apartment complex so we see them all the time and the other Sisters here are Sister Bernsen and Sister Maher. Sister Maher was one of my companions in Warner Robins so its cool to see her again! Well y’all its been a good week thanks for all of your love and support. Here are some random pics of me with a dog that matches my hair color! And an awesome sign that was in someone’s yard lol!

Transferred Today

Sister Randall was transferred today!  Here are a few pictures of her and Sister Dayton.
Sister Dayton & Sister Randall left the MTC together and flew to Georgia together and now they are companions!
Yes we are silly and traded our name tags!
Last Picture: This is Sister Talley! Sister Randall met her in her first area!  Sister Talley helps to drive Sisters to their new areas during transfers.  Every time Shelby is transferred she gets to see her!  So good to see this picture of friends together again!

Rose Got Baptized!!!!!

Wow what a great week! Rose got baptized!!!!! It was such a great day and the service was so nice! It was probably the best baptism I have ever attended. She is going to do amazing things and I am so grateful that I was able to speak at the baptism and share in the joy with her. I think the best part of the baptism was her son Sydney and his friend from the ward sing a musical number. The primary children have something that none of the rest of us do! After the baptism we went to see a less active sister in the ward Ms. Daisy. She is 83 and home bound and she really wanted a vacation so we brought the vacation to her! We went to Hawaii! That night I got the call that I would be transferred so I will be leaving on Tuesday. I am going to be sad to leave those that have really changed me but I know its time for a change! I hope y'all have a good week I love ya! Pictures to come!!!

Hurricane Matthew

Wow what a week! As some of you may know Hurricane Matthew has been making a mess around the coast so we got to have some great adventures from that! Wednesday we got a call that 2 zones from the mission are being evacuated so be prepared to have at least one other set of missionaries come to stay with you. So we all went to district meeting and had a good time and we didn’t get a call so we thought we where free of houseguests! Thursday morning we got up and got a call from Sister Grayson asking if we could take in a set of Sisters from Pooler, so they are coming from the Savannah area. Ten minutes later we had Sister Violet and Sister Tanner at our door! We got them settled in and went to work! That night we did service at a methods soup kitchen. It was really awesome to serve with people of other faiths and serve the community.
Friday was a great day! We got a text from Rose that she has really been thinking about it and she wants to set a date to get baptized! That night we went over for our lesson that we usually have on Friday and had a great lesson! At the end she told us that she doesn’t want to wait any more so this weekend October 15th Rose is going to get baptized!!!! We are so excited for her she is so ready!!! Now we are just trying to get ready for Saturday!
Saturday we helped a older couple move in from Florida. They are not members but we got a call from the Elders in Florida that they taught them the lessons and that they are very interested. We will be working with them in the up coming weeks!
Sunday was good the ward was packed with people from the coast that are trying to stay out of the way of the storm. So it was a great testimony meeting!
Monday was so fun we had two zones up here due to the hurricane and the Georgia national fair was going on in Perry.  So we all went down to that! It was a good break and the fair grounds are amazing! We got to play around there for a while before we had to head back. Today our friends headed back to Pooler so we are hoping and praying that all goes well for them. Please pray for those that where affected by the storm there is a lot of damage! Thank y'all for all your love and support!

Sick with the Flu

Hey y'all I hope that you had a great week! This week was so long! Sister Thatcher and me both got sick with the flu so that took us out for half of the week! But it’s all-good!  We got out and still talked to people and got to see my favorite lady Ms. Daisy! She is so cute and old! We also got to do a family home evening with Rose and her family and a couple other people. It was a good time and I think it really helped them. Conference was great we got to watch most of it at the church and then we watched the last session at the Starkey’s! It was cool to see Elder Usada and Elder Meurs speak since they where just here a few weeks ago talking with us in the mission! Hope that y'all have a good week! Love ya!

Crazy ER

Hey y'all hope you are having a great week! It was a good week in Georgia. Tuesday we had our district meeting that is always fun! After district meeting we had to go to the emergency room so that Sister Thatcher could get checked out from the accident. So we drive over there and are walking in and we walked into pure crazy! People where going nuts in there.  Some lady was screaming… they had to call security… it was great! I think I found my life calling to work in the ER as a nurse or some thing it was awesome! But we where there from 2-5, Sister Thatcher is all-good though! After that fun day we both got sick so we where dying half the week! I’m still sick!  Sister Thatcher is getting over it but its all good! We got to teach Sister Smith this week she is awesome! She shared her testimony with us this week and told us she knows that the church is true! So she is doing great! Sorry for another short week… we are just trying to recover from sickness lol! Love y'all thanks for all your love talk to ya soon!

Car Accident

Wow what a week! It sure was long! We started off our week with a bang... literally. We went to the air force museum and on the way home a lady turned out in front of us and we got into an accident. Our car wasn't to bad but hers was wrecked haha... but we where with out a car for a day because we ended up having to tow ours. The next day we walked 10 miles. I was as red as a lobster by the end of the day! That was the only exciting thing that happened this week. We also got to teach young woman's and the activity day girls so that was fun and we did some service this week. Helped a sister in the ward put together a quilt. So not too eventful I guess and I don’t have a lot of time today but I love ya’ll and hope you have a great week!
