Volleyball, Training, a Tick in My Leg!

Wow what a great week! Everyday we did something awesome so forgive me if my email sounds like a bunch of journal entries because it probably is straight from my journal. HAHA! Well Monday we all got together as a district and played sand volleyball that was really fun but I got a lot of sand in my hair but it was a good break to the every day. Tuesday we helped a family in the ward move out of their base housing and into a house. That took us all day but it was fun and good to help out. They are a great family! We love them a lot! And that night I had my first ever tornado watch! It stormed all night and we where told to be on high alert for tornadoes! So we pulled our beds away from the window and I slept just fine until 5am when the storm really picked up! Wednesday we had institute that’s always fun we are studying the Old Testament.  I have no idea what is going on but its good to study it.  I’m learning so much! Thursday we had another day helping Sister Neff clean up the old house so that she could pass inspection and then they took us to Outback and that was sooooo good! It was funny though because the waiter gave Sister Brain a kid’s menu HAHA!  Friday we got in the car at 7 and drove down to Douglas for zone conference! It was cool to see all the missionaries there and
President and Sister Cottle! We had some great training that I really needed to hear it was so great! On the way back to Valdosta Sister Swank wanted to show us this cool lake so we went to it and it was so pretty! I also climbed a tree and thought it would be cool to take some pics in it! Well we drove back to Valdosta to Moody Air Force Base and we where waiting outside the gate because we where going to a families house for dinner and I was itching my leg and I look down and I had a tick!! I started screaming and Sister Swank had to pull it out of my leg! So I guess I’m officially a Georgian now! But we had Thai food again that night it is so good! It might be my favorite new food! HAHA!  Saturday we went with Sister Swank out to a family’s house that is a part member and the wife sells Lula Roe! And they also showed us their chickens and turkeys so that was fun! That night we had stake conference so we went up to Tifton for that.  Gwen, the deaf member in the family ward that we work with, talked in conference with the ward mission leader translating for her! It was so awesome! Sunday we again went up to Tifton for conference.  We had to get there early because the missionaries where asked to sing two musical numbers for our Mission President because it was his last conference in Tifton. That was awesome we sang “Called to Serve & “The Time is Far Spent” which is our mission song! And then we where invited to stay on the stand for the meeting so I really had to be on my best behavior! HAHA! Well that is a little of the amazing week I had.  It was great to have all the meeting and training.  I really enjoyed it and it affected my attitude and all aspects of missionary work for me! I love y'all thanks for all the support!

We Did A Lot of Service This Week

Well it was a short week this week not much to report! We had exchanges this week so I got a new companion for the day that was fun I guess but I missed Sister Brain! We did a lot of service this week! It really changed me though. We helped one of the Elder’s investigators get all her stuff out of her apartment because she was evicted. When we got there the house was a mess and the lady Mary was really stressed out so we started packing up stuff and soon this little girl came out of the back room and just hugged my legs. So we played with her and kept her distracted while the Elder’s moved the stuff out.  Her name is Arianna she is 2 and Mary the lady we helped move is her grandma. Her mom doesn’t want to take care of her so Mary does it. Well we got them all packed up and we moved them out with no place for them to go. It broke my heart having to let this little girl go I wanted to just take her with me she is so innocent and it is sad to know that more than likely she will follow the same example set by her mother and grandmother. It breaks my heart! There are 10,000 foster care kids in Georgia! It makes me truly happy for the family I have and the Gospel that shows us the way. I know that no matter how hard life gets because of the people around me I would never have to worry about being in a situation like that! I will never forget Arianna and the lesson she taught me.

New Comp, Sister Brain!

Hey y'all!
Wow what a week! So we went up to Macon on Tuesday and I got my new comp Sister Brain! She is so cute! She served in Lagrange before this so that is my last area! And Sister Platt went to South Carolina with Sister Girvin (my last comp in Pine Mountain)! We also got some new elders here, Elder Kobba and Lee.   They served in my last area too! So it's awesome because they are all my friends and its good to have friends in the district again! On Wednesday we went to lunch with Sister Patterson! She is the cutest less active and I love her to death! And then on Thursday we went knocking for the first time in a long time! We went with Elder Lee and Kobba to an apartment complex and we split the buildings up and went and knocked! It was a really great experience.  We got 4 new ysa investigators! And the Elders got some as well! Friday we went to see a investigator that we have been trying to teach her name is Donzella.  She is a radio announcer and she is so awesome! She is on date for the 12th of March! We also have a great ysa investigator named Conner! He has an amazing story; He has been in and out of jail since he was 13 and he finally has decided to change his life.  He was addicted to all kinds of drugs and has been clean now for almost a year. He's having a hard time getting over the past and feeling like he can be forgiven but he is so awesome! He is on date as well for the 27th of this month. For those who don't know I hit a big day this week in my mission! Friday was 6 months out haha! So we had a little party! Crazy that time is flying by! Also here are some pics on what happens to my hair when I sleep in curlers haha! Well I love ya'll!  Hope you had a great week!  Talk to you soon!

Love, Sister Randall
